Tributes Pour In for the Reiners as Autopsy Reports Face a Security Hold.

More than two weeks subsequent to the heartbreaking passing of esteemed filmmaker Rob Reiner and his partner, photographer Michele Reiner, peers and loved ones are still paying respects to the couple.

‘Life is Pain Without You’: Cary Elwes Recalls His Director

Sharing on social media, actor Cary Elwes, who starred in Reiner's 1987 classic *The Princess Bride*, mentioned he just recently felt able to post publicly about his profound loss.

"Adequate time has gone by that I can finally articulate my loss into words," posted Elwes, adding that his initial encounter with Reiner created an instant bond. "Once we started sharing more moments together I understood this was someone I desired in my life."

The actor shared never-before-seen clips from the film, remarking that he cannot recall "a single day without mirth".

"This story is about affection, allegiance and giving. Values that Rob valued immensely. Which is among the many reasons he was the ideal person to guide it," Elwes expressed.

He also paid tribute Michele Reiner, noting: "To say that they were a incredible duo would be an understatement. My heart still pangs every time I recall you." He concluded with a phrase from *The Princess Bride*: "Sure, death cannot stop true love but existence is agony without you."

Martin Scorsese Recalls a Friend and Collaborator

In a different essay, revered director Martin Scorsese shared memories of Reiner, whom he first met in the 1970s.

"Right away, I loved hanging out with Rob. We had a natural affinity for each other. He was very funny and sometimes sharply witty, but he was never the kind of guy who would take over the room," Scorsese said.

Scorsese highlighted Reiner's cameo appearance in his 2013 film *The Wolf of Wall Street*, embodying the father of the lead role.

"His improvisation skills with the best. He was a virtuoso at comedy, he worked wonderfully with his co-stars, and he comprehended the personal struggle of his character," Scorsese noted.
