Kansas City Chiefs State They Are Aware of Domestic Violence Allegations Connected to Wide Receiver the Athlete
The Kansas City Chiefs issued a statement on Wednesday evening stating they have knowledge of domestic violence allegations made public in online accounts by a ex-partner of wide receiver Rashee Rice and had been in contact with the NFL.
The team omitted the name of the player specifically in their statement and stated they would have “no further comment at this time”.

The woman, who also did not mention the athlete by name, shared a set of images on social media that appeared to show signs of physical abuse. She did say the person involved was the father of her children, and reports indicate she has two children with Rice, whom the Chiefs drafted in the 2023 draft.
Official Complaints Reportedly Unavailable
No official complaints were available in the Kansas City suburb where the alleged abuse is said to have taken place.
Player's Prior Off-Field Troubles
Rice missed the first six games of this season following an NFL suspension for his role in instigating a crash on a Dallas highway that left several individuals injured. Rice was given 30 days in jail and five years’ probation after pleading guilty to serious offenses.
Statistically, Rice finished the season with 53 receptions for 571 yards and five TDs as the Chiefs finished 6-11 and failed to qualify for the postseason for the first occasion in a decade.
