On Monday, Leicester Crown Court was told call records and information retrieved from phones logged Ms Wandelt repeatedly requesting Madeleine's mother for a genetic test during 2023 and 2024.

Madeleine's disappearance in 2007 - when she was three years old during a trip in Portugal - is among the most widely reported child disappearance cases and is still unsolved.

'I Don't Want Money'

One recorded message, presented in court, captured Ms Wandelt saying: "I understand I'm overweight and plain like Madeleine used to be, but I feel what I know."

While a separate message of Ms Wandelt's monologues with Mrs McCann's voicemail said: "Imagine there is a small chance that I am she? What then? Isn't that important for you?"

"I don't want money, I maintain a existence here in Poland, I simply desire to understand," she added.

The panel was advised that via electronic messages, text messages and communications, Ms Wandelt demanded a DNA test, sent early photographs to her phone in a effort to demonstrate a similarity to Mrs McCann's disappeared daughter, and claimed to have "flashbacks" from a youth with the McCanns.

The investigator, a data specialist with the police force who gathered the information, advised the court there "seemed to lack any replies" from Mrs McCann.

Ms Wandelt additionally contacted family friends of the McCanns, according to the phone records.

On 9 October 2024, Gerry McCann responded to a phone call from Ms Wandelt to his wife's phone, saying she had "the wrong phone."

During that incident Ms Wandelt deposited a message on Mrs McCann's answerphone declaring "I will continue and I will prove my position."

The court was informed the co-defendant developed a association online with Ms Wandelt before accompanying her on a visit to the McCanns' residence in that area in December 2024.

Phone records revealed Mrs Spragg had communicated through messaging service to Mrs McCann to state the media had depicted Ms Wandelt as "a crazy person" but that she deserved to be taken seriously in the months before the trip to Rothley, Leicestershire, in December 2024.

The court heard message exchanges between the two individuals, in last November, discussing endeavoring to get Mrs McCann's biological evidence from her trash or from utensils at a restaurant.

"We have to make a stand," Mrs Spragg advised Ms Wandelt.

On the night of the appearance to their house, Mrs Spragg transmitted a communication which expressed: "We are sitting adjacent to the McCanns' house with our lights out like investigators. I desired to do this with someone else I never thought I would be doing that with the McCanns."

The trial continues.
